What is an RCA?

A Reinstatement Cost Assessment is an estimate of how much it would cost to completely rebuild a property if it were destroyed, for example by fire, flood, or another major event. It is important that RCAs are carried out correctly to prevent underinsurance.

We produce RCAs for Residential properties, Listed properties, Commercial properties and Portfolio instructions. We work alongside home owners, insurance brokers and managing agents to ensure properties are insured at the appropriate level.

Underinsurance Risk

We often identify properties which are notably underinsured at the time of survey.

This is because properties regularly relying on historic reinstatement cost assessments which do not factor in recent increases in materials, labour costs and inflation.
